Start building with Wildstack.

From your first project to a native Shopify theme.

Your first theme

  1. Create a project. Start with a template or import a theme you own. A project keeps its theme source, conversations and history together.
  2. Connect your Shopify store. Use Integrations to authorize the store. Wildstack’s connected preview works with a development theme.
  3. Give your agent a direction. Describe the store, share a reference URL or attach supported images. Include the details that matter to the result.
  4. Refine in the canvas. Inspect the storefront, change the viewport and ask for the next improvement.
Example request

Build an editorial fashion store from this reference. Use a full-height campaign, quiet navigation and a video gallery on the product page.

Working from references

A reference can supply the layout, brand direction, content, interaction—or a combination. Tell the agent what you want to preserve and what should change.

For a complete store, describe the main page types you need. For a smaller request, point to the particular section or behavior. You can also begin with a written brief and develop an original direction.

  • Share the URL when the reference is accessible.
  • Use screenshots to show a specific composition or detail.
  • Mention mobile behavior when it matters to the design.
  • Provide your own brand, product and content direction.

The canvas and agent

The connected canvas displays your theme rendered by Shopify. Theme changes appear in that preview while you work.

Use the viewport controls to inspect a single size, or Every breakpoint to view the responsive storefront together. Select a section to give the agent context for a focused change. Native sections are the visual targets; the Navigator provides the underlying theme structure.

Example request

Keep this campaign image, but move its caption to the lower-left corner and check the mobile layout.

Building sections

You can build an entire theme or add a section to an existing one. Describe its content, layout, interactions and the options a merchant should be able to edit.

A useful section includes native Shopify settings for its purpose. For a collection feature, that might mean selecting a collection, adjusting the product layout and choosing whether prices appear.

Example request

Add an editorial collection feature with an image, heading and collection link. Make those fields editable in Shopify and adapt the layout for mobile.

Editing in Shopify

Wildstack builds native Shopify themes using Liquid, sections, blocks and settings. Shopify’s customizer remains the place to make merchant edits.

Open the theme in Shopify, change its settings and save there. Saved customizer changes sync back to the project. If a settings conflict appears, choose which version to keep in Studio.

Building in Wildstack does not publish the theme. You decide when to publish through Shopify.

Products and content

With connected store-management access, the agent can work on products, prices, collections, pages, navigation and supported custom data. Describe the actual changes you want it to make.

For a launch, a request can connect the work: create products, prepare their descriptions, put them in a collection and select that collection in the theme.

Example request

Create these three products from my brief, write their descriptions, group them into Spring edit and feature the collection on the homepage.

Store-data changes update the connected store separately from theme source. Restoring a theme version does not undo product or price changes.

Theme history

Wildstack keeps complete theme-source versions as you work. Use History to revisit an earlier version and restore it as a new current version.

Later versions remain in history. Products, prices and other remote store records have a separate lifecycle from theme source.

Common questions

Do I need to be a developer?

You can direct work with references and written requests. Developers can also work with the native theme structure and source context.

Can I use an existing theme?

Yes. Import a theme you own and use the agent to refine it or build new sections.

Is a Shopify subscription included?

Your Shopify store and subscription are separate. Wildstack provides the workspace and authoring tools. See pricing for the Wildstack plans.
